Technology has brought extraordinary change in how teachers now a days teach. “I have found the technology challenge to be so rewarding. It's sometimes frustrating when I'm unable to fix things, but I would never go back” says Sandy. Learning about new strategies, programs, and use of technology does not only belong to librarians. “I have learned about so many different teaching tools from reading teachers, classroom teachers and especially technology teachers. As a librarian I have found that asking my colleagues, "What has worked for you?" "How have you done this in the past?" "Do you know of some different ways to do this?" opens doors for collaboration”.
Technology teachers and classroom teachers need to be librarians' best friends! Don't forget to include parents in this
learning. Asking the parent group at your school for an evening of computer learning together or giving demonstrations at open house are ways to involve families.

Summary on: Mission Possible: Teaching Through Technology
This article is about a teacher that wanted to introduce technology into the classrooms. She asked herself “What should students know and able to do if the school had a staff highly trained in technology and a quality program to integrate technology into teaching?”. “As I began to shape my vision, two things became paramount: First, I wanted every teacher to become proficient in using technology in all aspects of instruction. Second, I wanted to create an infrastructure that would be self-sustaining and self-renewing”.
They began by identifying and making use of systems and applications resources already available to secondary schools, in their district, such as e-mail, free Web sites, and Web-based programs. Determining the needs within each
grade level was the next step. Through self-evaluation and assessment tools, they identified hardware and software needs, teacher proficiency levels, and teacher interest in integrating technology into the curriculum. With this information, they were able to outline a professional training program and to begin building a scaffold that would support a five-year plan of technology infusion.

Summary on: A Space for Writing without Writing: Blogs in the Language Arts Classroom
Weblogs, commonly shortened to blogs, have become enormously popular. Teachers are already exploring instructional uses in innovative ways. Blogs developed through tools such as Blogger.com require no knowledge of HTML and provide students with the opportunity to publish through the stroke of a key. Blogs have led to a resurgence in journaling, through their accessibility, their audience, and their immediacy. Good teaching requires effective planning,
especially with the introduction of a new online writing technology.

A Project related to Technology
In class we had to do a project, explaining a proposal to involve technology into our curriculum. My project proposal was to learn about the interaction and organization in the Solar System and the universe. They will use various types of technology, and as a class will create a weblog.
For that assignment, I wanted my students to know and learn about the solar system, to know that the tilt of the Earth on its own axis as it rotates and revolves around the sun causes changes in season, length of day, and energy available, know that the combination of the Earth’s movement and the moon’s own orbit around the Earth results in the appearance of cyclical phases of the moon, know that the sun is a star and that its energy can be captured or concentrated to generate heat and light for work on Earth, know that the planets differ in size, characteristics, and composition and that they orbit the sun in our Solar System, and finally understand the arrangement of planets in our Solar System.
Before they can accomplish that assignment, they must have watched a quick movie about the Solar System, and the arrangements of the planets. What my students needed for this assignment were articles, books, and pictures about each planet. Also, they must have known and understood what Weblog are, and can be able to create on for this assignment.
The grade level that I was teaching was 5Th grade. That implementation took 3-5 days. My science classes were held every day, Monday thru Friday, and last 1 hour and 15 min. That assignment occurred in the middle of the year, when they have learned about some types of technology, including PowerPoint, Microsoft word, and ho to create a weblog. That project took place inside of my classroom, but my students had to go several times to the media center to look for books related to the Solar System.
I have learned about myself that this assignment was a great experience for my future career, and that it made me think of how my future life would be by assigning my students some interesting assignments using various types of technologies.

Summary on article: Bookmarking the world: Weblog applications in education
A quick summary for this article is that, Weblog, now a days, are becoming very popular as people search for high quality material. Weblog are used for sharing ideas and opinions from unique styles, and different point of views. Educators can use weblogs as sources of information
on important topics and as modes of online classroom interaction. Weblog development is an example of how the Internet has been brought into the classroom in advantageous yet feasible ways. In its early stages, only those who had access to business, university, or research computing facilities could make materials available on the Web. However, in recent years, Web page construction platforms have been made widely accessible through a number of free or low-cost services. Weblog development can empower students to become more analytical and critical; through actively responding to Internet materials, students can define their positions in the context of others' writings as well as outline their own perspectives on particular issues. Weblog can be topic oriented or wide ranging and can incorporate various amounts of personal or autobiographical information.
I selected this article because one of my educational technology questions were How to use weblogs in a classroom?, and this article explains how we could include them into our curriculum as teachers.

Welcome!
Hi everyone!
My name is Johanna. I am majoring in Elementary Education.
I am very passionate for children, and love them very much.
Currently, I am working in a pre-school, teaching 3 year olds, and I love it!, I've been working there for about 3 years, and that's how I found out that I wanted to be a teacher.
