A Project related to Technology

In class we had to do a project, explaining a proposal to involve technology into our curriculum. My project proposal was to learn about the interaction and organization in the Solar System and the universe. They will use various types of technology, and as a class will create a weblog.
For that assignment, I wanted my students to know and learn about the solar system, to know that the tilt of the Earth on its own axis as it rotates and revolves around the sun causes changes in season, length of day, and energy available, know that the combination of the Earth’s movement and the moon’s own orbit around the Earth results in the appearance of cyclical phases of the moon, know that the sun is a star and that its energy can be captured or concentrated to generate heat and light for work on Earth, know that the planets differ in size, characteristics, and composition and that they orbit the sun in our Solar System, and finally understand the arrangement of planets in our Solar System.
Before they can accomplish that assignment, they must have watched a quick movie about the Solar System, and the arrangements of the planets. What my students needed for this assignment were articles, books, and pictures about each planet. Also, they must have known and understood what Weblog are, and can be able to create on for this assignment.
The grade level that I was teaching was 5Th grade. That implementation took 3-5 days. My science classes were held every day, Monday thru Friday, and last 1 hour and 15 min. That assignment occurred in the middle of the year, when they have learned about some types of technology, including PowerPoint, Microsoft word, and ho to create a weblog. That project took place inside of my classroom, but my students had to go several times to the media center to look for books related to the Solar System.
I have learned about myself that this assignment was a great experience for my future career, and that it made me think of how my future life would be by assigning my students some interesting assignments using various types of technologies.
